pardon me, i just happened upon your webpage but i couldn’t help it : that’s not why she used drugs and cut– it was so she didn’t have to feel the negative feelings she was already feeling. teens usu. cut b/c the physical pain at least temporarily overcomes the emotional and mental pain. they usu. use drugs for the same reason. i haven’t known a lot of teens who had a hard time feeling SOMEthing, have you??

Hi, Stacy. Glad you stopped by with your comment. You are entirely correct about cutting, and to a large extent, teen-aged drug use. Fanvids are a way for people to put their own spin on a film or television show. Sometimes, vids are dramatic stories that use the source material, but in their own way. I think this is what Aimee has done beautifully with this vid.
Even though the problems faced in Thirteen may not be portrayed with exact parallels, fanvids tend to allow for the vidder’s vision to come through in an entirely different light–sometimes creating a whole new story, independent of the film.
